Design Studio 5, in collaboration with the East Falls Development Corporation, and Septa Public transit.
East Falls is a semi-urban neighborhood in which the Manyaunk/ Norristown rail line acts as a major transport artery. Currently, the ticket booth is housed in a work trailer, with minimal coverage provided.
The design program works to solve multiple issues concerning ADA egress, cross track travel, indoor & outdoor seating and durability of materials to withstand high volume of train passengers.
The current structure of the East Falls Train Station, has users traveling underground to connect to the other side of the tracks. Our solution instead is to provide ADA overpass, that allows users easy access to cross over and provide indoor amenities to wait and watch for the train to arrive.
